This simple home-made chocolate cake is a one-bowl wonder! Its quick to make and is moist and fluffy. It's the best chocolate cake I've ever tasted! Dont use the boxed mix and whip this up from scratch with minimal effort and maximum flavour. Just add your favourite frosting and you're set.
Ingredients
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- ½ cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup boiling water

Steps
- Firstly, get all your ingredients set up, and preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Set up your baking pans by greasing or lining them.
- Next, stir sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large bowl.
- Add your eggs, milk, oil and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Stir in the boiling/hot water. The batter will look thin, trust the process.
- Pour the batter evenly into the pans your prepared beforehand.
- Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, about 30 to 35 minutes. Lastly, let cool in the pans for 10 minutes.
